Belledorm In the Press
Each of these products was tested by a named journalist over a period of nights or weeks before the recommendation was made.
Hotel suite firm pillow
Siobhan Grogan tested every pillow in this round-up over several weeks. She found the microfibre filling supportive for side sleeping, keeping the neck and shoulders in line, and noted that the 100 per cent cotton cover gives a down-like softness without the allergy risk that comes with feather fillings.
Reviewer noted: it may feel firm for dedicated back sleepers.
Bamboo bedding range
Ali Howard slept in, washed and re-covered every set before choosing Belledorm for the top place. The range is a 70 per cent bamboo, 30 per cent cotton blend woven to 300 thread count. She found it silky against the skin but weighty enough to drape properly, holding its finish after washing at 40°C.
Reviewer noted: the colour range is limited, currently white, ivory and platinum.
100% mulberry silk extra deep fitted sheet
Ali Howard tested this sheet on a deeper mattress and found the 38cm pocket depth held its corners through the night rather than pinging off. The silk is 6A grade at 16 momme, giving a light, cool feel with a soft sheen, gentle on sensitive skin and temperature regulating across the seasons.
Reviewer noted: hand wash only.
100% linen bedding
Chosen as the best neutral option for buyers building a bed from separates. The reviewer found the 38cm pocket depth generous on a thicker mattress, and singled out the button fastening and the hand holes at the top corners of the duvet cover as making a cover change considerably easier.
Reviewer noted: pillowcases are sold individually, and the range is currently oatmeal only.
Glamour
Our 1000 thread count pure Egyptian cotton sateen duvet set was included in Glamour's guide to Egyptian cotton bedding, in white and platinum.
HN Magazine
The Verona collection appeared in the summer bedding accessories section: bed runner, throw and filled cushion, all in 100 per cent faux suede, in emerald, mink and charcoal.
The Times
Managing director Sunil Ruia was quoted in a Times travel feature on hotel pillow menus and sleeping separately, discussing how fabric choice affects whether couples can share a bed comfortably.
