When the temperature rises, a heavy duvet works against you. You push it off, pull it back, wake up too warm or too cold, and your sleep suffers for it. A 1.5 tog duvet solves that problem simply. It gives you just enough cover to feel settled without trapping the heat that disrupts your rest.

This microfibre duvet is filled with fine, soft fibres that mimic the gentle loft of natural down, but without the allergens. The filling is 100% microfibre, and the outer casing is 100% polyester with a smooth, soft finish that sits comfortably inside any duvet cover.

The box quilted construction is worth understanding: each section of filling is stitched into its own pocket, which stops the microfibre from shifting, clumping, or migrating to the edges. That means consistent warmth and an even feel from corner to corner, no thin spots, no cold patches.

It's machine washable at 40°C and dries quickly, which makes it easy to keep fresh through the warmer months when you're washing bedding more often. Whether you use it as your main duvet in summer or layer it with a higher tog in the transitional weeks of spring and autumn, it adapts to how you sleep, not the other way around.

Can I use this duvet all year round, or is it only for summer?

Asked by: Christine

It's designed primarily for summer, but it works well beyond that. In spring and autumn, you can layer the 1.5 tog inside a duvet cover alongside a higher tog duvet - combining them gives you more warmth than either would on its own, and you can separate them again when the temperature changes. Some people who sleep particularly warm use a 1.5 tog year-round and add a throw or blanket for the colder months rather than switching to a heavier duvet.

How does microfibre compare to natural down at 1.5 tog?

Asked by: Mark

At 1.5 tog there's very little insulation in either filling, so the practical difference between them is smaller than at higher tog ratings. Microfibre is lighter in feel, fully hypoallergenic, machine washable at home, and dries quickly. Natural down has a slightly softer loft and better moisture-wicking properties, but it typically costs more and requires more careful laundering. For a summer-only duvet that gets washed frequently, microfibre is the more practical choice.

Is this duvet suitable for someone with asthma or dust mite allergies?

Asked by: Linda

Yes. The 100% microfibre filling is fully hypoallergenic - it does not harbour dust mites, mould, or other common allergens the way natural fillings can. It's also machine washable at 40°C, which means you can wash it regularly to remove any allergens that settle on the surface. If allergies are a particular concern, using a duvet protector underneath your duvet cover adds a further barrier.

What does box quilted mean, and why does it matter?

Asked by: James

Box quilting stitches the duvet into individual pockets, each holding its own portion of filling. Without it, microfibre can shift and clump towards the edges or corners, leaving thin patches in the middle. Box quilting keeps the filling evenly distributed across the full surface of the duvet, so every part feels the same weight and warmth. It also means the duvet holds its shape better after washing.

Is 1.5 tog warm enough to sleep under, or will I feel like there's nothing there?

Asked by: Rachel

A 1.5 tog duvet provides very little insulation, which is the point. It gives you the physical comfort of something to sleep under, the weight and drape of a duvet - without trapping heat. Most people find it feels like a light, soft layer rather than nothing at all. If your bedroom sits above 20°C on summer nights, 1.5 tog will keep you comfortable without overheating. If you prefer a bit more substance, our 4.5 tog microfibre duvet is the next step up.
