An always-elegant finishing touch for any bed, the platform valance (also known as a base valance) is a decorative ‘skirt’ that drapes over and covers your divan bed base, or bed frame. Perfect for decorating a plain base, or concealing a multitude of storage sins hidden under the bed! Choosing a platform valance instead of a fitted valance sheet (you can find those here), which covers the mattress and base, leaves you free to cover your mattress in whatever type of sheet you prefer, such as a winter flannelette. It’s a particularly ideal option for deeper mattresses.
The 200 Count Polycotton Platform Valance (Percale) comes in a range of colours and sizes, and features stylish box pleats. The valance drop (the part covering the sides of the bed base/frame) is 41cm (16'') from the edge of your bed.
Machine washable at 40°C. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Tumble dry or drip dry. Use a warm iron. Wash colours separately. Wash before use.

Needed a deeper valance so none of the base of bed was showing. I measured the depth wanted but the valance has come up about 1cm to long and drags on carpet so having to tuck in at floor level.
Colour little paler than other duck egg blue bedding items and decor in room.
Valance is ok but very thin and not a very thick cotton.
